According to the Asia Cup Schedule 2022 of the 15th Asia Cup, which gets underway on August 27, Afghanistan will play the hosts, Sri Lanka, in the first match. A day later in Dubai, India and Pakistan will pick up where they left off.

Asia Cup 2022 Venue

Sri Lanka Cricket will host the 2022 Asia Cup. Previously, the tournament was set to take place in Sri Lanka. The Asian Cricket Council, however, decided to change the venue of the premier tournament due to ongoing political and economic unrest in the country.

It was later decided that the tournament would be held in the United Arab Emirates. As a result, Sri Lanka Cricket will host the tournament at the new venue in the United Arab Emirates. Because the tournament is being held in the UAE, all matches will be played on three different venues. They are called the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, respectively.

The teams for Asia Cup 2022 have yet to be divided into groups. There were six teams in the previous edition as well, divided into two groups of three. Group A included India, Pakistan, and Hong Kong, while Group B included Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

In terms of format, each team played each other once in the same group. The top two teams from each group then qualified for the second stage, known as the Super Four. The four teams in that stage played each other once before the top two qualified for the final. With six teams participating in the upcoming edition, one can expect a similar format.
